Canon announces a major firmware update for its range of PTZ cameras.
Among the many improvements is the free introduction of the Auto Tracking Lite feature across the range. Follow the video presentation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3vtO45-Flw
Improved performance for the Add On Auto Tracking Application and a new Auto Tracking Lite version available free of charge across the range
The new firmware will introduce new and improved auto-tracking algorithms, for smoother and more natural pan and tilt movements. The new recognition system will allow the camera to maintain subject tracking even in the most difficult conditions, such as when the subject momentarily crosses paths with other moving people.
With the new firmware, Auto Tracking Lite will be available free of charge on all cameras. This version will offer the same precision and fluidity performance as the full licence, without some more advanced set-up and customisation options, which will remain available in the paid licence.
CR-N700 - New colouring options and dedicated Virtual Production upgrades
For the CR-N700, the new firmware will introduce support for the Canon709/BT.709 colour space and gamut, G Gain management, an extension of the RGB pedestal range, to further simplify colour matching between different cameras.
In Virtual Production contexts, a wider spectrum of Clear Scan frequencies will allow use with a wide variety of LED walls.

CR-N100 and CR-N300 - Improved performance via USB
The new firmware will improve frame rate performance when the cameras are used via USB connection. In fact, the CR-N100 and CR-N300 are compliant with the USB Video Class standard, the standard for handling video streams via USB, and can therefore be used for PC-based video conferencing simply via the USB connection. The framerate of the cameras, when used in this manner, will increase from the original FHD12.5fps to a maximum of FHD30fps. In addition to Motion JPEG, the output will be available in YUV format, to facilitate downstream processing of the shoot.
Thanks to this update, the CR-N100 and CR-N300 represent an excellent quality solution that can be easily integrated into all web conference contexts.

RC-IP1000
Among the new features introduced by the update to the RC-IP1000 controller is the ability to view thumbnails of presets and traces recorded for different cameras directly on the controller's display, for even simpler and more intuitive operation. In addition, the contents of the display, including the Multiview, can now also be viewed via the SDI and HDMI outputs, allowing operators to have maximum control by viewing on larger screens.
