The HD mobile PL series active PA systems combine extremely high sound quality with elegant design and directional sound radiation. Thanks to the coupling of sixteen 3″ full-range loudspeakers to form a cylindrical wavefront, the hd PL16 column loudspeaker is ideal for broadcasting voice and music in halls, clubs, churches or museums. Even under difficult acoustic conditions with long reverberation times, the hd PL series guarantees excellent speech intelligibility through sound free of unwanted reflections, and is characterised by a well-balanced and homogeneous acoustic response, even at lower volume levels.
The hd PL16C/P18-PA2 system includes the DSP-controlled hd P18 active subwoofer, which drives the hd PL16 column loudspeakers and, if required, another hd Sub18 passive subwoofer. The powerful 18″ long excursion loudspeaker is positioned in an acoustic cavity that utilises the bass reflex and ensures controlled and punchy bass. The DSP unit provides factory-programmed audio presets that simplify working in a wide variety of environments and applications. Easy handling and compact dimensions save installation time, weight and loading space. In addition, the Plug & Play system minimises wiring and thus potential sources of error.
For mobile applications and fixed installations, the cardioid hd PLC module is provided, which effectively attenuates the frequency components radiated in the opposite direction up to 20 dB. The increased directivity of the loudspeaker ensures a considerable reduction in the susceptibility to feedback in the mid to low frequency range and at the same time improves speech intelligibility, as sound energy is not radiated into unwanted areas, but is controlled and concentrated in the areas of interest. The hd PLC module is mounted directly on the back of the PowerLine Stick and operated via a separate amplification channel. To activate the cardioid configuration and exploit its advantages, simply load the DSP preset via the hd Levelz software. In addition to reducing the sound energy radiated from the back, the hd PLC cardioid module also extends the sound pressure in the low-mid frequency band in the direction of the audience. This makes the sound more punchy and dynamic with the same line length.
